Gaid University

The Gaidar Foundation’s Educational Programme includes online courses and offline schools. The programmes cover various subjects like economics and history. It targets an audience primarily aged 30+ and values in-depth knowledge. Themes include economics, 1990s history, and socio-humanitarian disciplines to expand public horizons. In 2020 The Gaidar Foundation decided to unite all their educational programmes under the Gaid University brand.

This project got a Certificate of Excellence from the Type Directors Club New York in 2021.


This was the fourth project for the Yegor Gaidar Foundation. I had a good understanding of what the client needed and what they liked, and they trusted me. I wanted to emphasize that despite many of the Gaid University’s projects being exclusively online, it remains committed to academic traditions. I used a blackboard as a visual reference, strongly associated with the educational process and academia. The grid system was based on graphics used in various fields of scientific knowledge: mathematics, economics, sociology, and communication theory.

For the logo, I used a shield shape, common in many classical educational institutions. However, this form was simplified into a modern minimalist design and adapted to the overall visual language of the brand identity.
